Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Addis Ababa – Arba Minch – Dorze Village
Morning flight from Addis Ababa to Arba Minch. Upon arrival, drive to Dorze Village to visit the Dorze people, famous for their impressive elephant-shaped bamboo houses and traditional weaving culture. Experience their daily life and taste local food.
Overnight: Arba Minch Lodge / Paradise Lodge
Day 2 – Arba Minch – Konso – Turmi
Drive south to the Konso highlands. Visit the Konso cultural village, known for terraced farming, wooden grave statues, and stone-walled settlements (UNESCO-listed heritage). Continue to Turmi, home of the Hamer tribe.
Overnight: Turmi Lodge / Camping
Day 3 – Turmi – Hamer Village & Market
Visit a Hamer village to learn about their pastoral lifestyle, traditional hairstyles, and cattle culture. If available, witness a Hamer market or ceremonial event such as the famous bull-jumping ceremony.
Overnight: Turmi Lodge / Camping
Day 4 – Turmi – Karo Tribe – Omorate
Drive to the Omo River to visit the Karo tribe, known for elaborate body painting and scarification traditions. Enjoy cultural interaction and photography opportunities. Continue to Omorate, homeland of the Dassanech people.
Overnight: Omorate Lodge / Camping
Day 5 – Omorate – Dassanech Tribe – Jinka
Cross the Omo River by local boat to visit the Dassanech tribe and experience their riverside lifestyle. Later drive to Jinka, the gateway to Mursi territory.
Overnight: Jinka Lodge / Camping
Day 6 – Jinka – Mursi Tribe – Jinka
Early morning drive into Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, famous for lip plates and body ornamentation. Return to Jinka in the afternoon.
Overnight: Jinka Lodge
Day 7 – Jinka – Addis Ababa
Morning flight back to Addis Ababa. End of the tour. Optional city tour or cultural dinner can be arranged upon request.
